I am passionate about helping families navigate the various financial decisions they face throughout their lives. I firmly believe that with proper information, guidance and a plan, families can have greater economic success.

I am the sixth of seven children and the first generation of my family to attend college. My father was skilled at math and owned a masonry company. I remember his business partner telling me that my father could estimate a job's cost in his head with stunning accuracy, including the bricks, mortar, labor, and everything else. On the other hand, my mother was skilled in writing and worked in the newspaper industry when spelling and grammar were reviewed by sharp women. Back then, "cut and paste" meant using scissors, razor blades, and glue to put the newspaper together before it went to press. My mother also loved word games and could beat anyone at Scrabble, even in her nineties.

I leaned more towards my father's strengths and I have always enjoyed working with numbers. It was only natural that I became a CPA and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. Numbers speak to me, and they tell me a story. During the financial planning process, the numbers that I gather, such as income, expenses, and savings, tell me where the client is now and where they could be in the future, including the goals and dreams they could achieve.

My sister Laura was born with an intellectual disability. I was fortunate to become involved in my mother's financial planning before she passed away. Although Mom worked with a financial advisor for many years, little planning was put in place for our sister with special needs. I became involved in the special needs community and worked with my mother and a team of people to set up a special needs trust and apply for government programs to fund services for Laura.  Laura now lives with me and attends an excellent day program, and has a financial plan for her lifetime.
